Why I Started CerenMcKay.Store

Hello, fellow art-lover, curious clicker, lovely human (or very cultured bot), or person who got here by accident (you’re welcome anyway).

I wanted to take a minute (okay, maybe five) to tell you the story behind CerenMcKay.Store — and no, it didn’t involve a lightning bolt of inspiration or a talking raccoon. Just a lot of art, pixels, caffeine, and that annoying-but-useful urge to create everything.

From Paintbrushes to Pixels: My Artistic Origins

Before I ever built a digital storefront, I was a graphic designer by profession — logos, branding, web design, all that jazz. I loved the structure and storytelling behind it. Design gave me structure - grids, fonts, rules (delightful).
Painting? That was all emotion - bold strokes, screaming color, and occasional existential crises in front of a canvas. When I wasn’t working on client projects, I was elbow-deep in abstract acrylic painting, usually surrounded by chaos, paint splatters, and the question “Is this done or am I just tired?”

My acrylic art isn’t soft or minimal. It’s loud, colourful, and demands attention. Red, blue, yellow? Oh yes - we’re using all the primaries and then some.
